Happy Tuesday everyone!
As I sit here to write my first post about creating your personal brand I realize the enormity of this task.
I’ll make this simple by putting on my “PR lens”. The first thing a public relations professional has to do when beginning a PR plan is to determine the situation of the client. In this case, the client you need to research is YOU!
Take time to reflect and determine what makes you who you are. Like I said, I’m going to make this journey as pain-free as possible. Feel free to use the questions below for guidance. Your answers to these questions can help guide what qualities and skills you want to focus on when promoting your brand on various social media platforms.
- Who are you?
- What are you passionate about?
- What motivates you?
- What do you like about yourself?
- Why do you like public relations?
- What qualities make you a good PR professional?
- What do you want to accomplish in your career?
Self-exploration is not an easy task; it is a lifelong process. However, by taking a moment to ask ourselves a few simple questions we can begin to build the framework for our own brand. In my next post I will attempt to help you use social media to “sell” yourself. For a little more guidance check out this article from Forbes.com. It has a lot of helpful information and advice!
